Diploma in Higher Education for Early Childhood

I joined CKC in June 2016 after taking a break from childcare to raise my son.

I live at home with my partner and our son, Joe. I now have a Diploma of Higher Education in Early Childhood, meaning in am level 5 qualified. In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing with a book or watching films. I also enjoy spending time with my family and going on days out.

I previously joined CKC in 2015 but left for a couple of months before re-joining the team. I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and taking his son out and spending time with him. I also enjoy socialising with my friends. 

Catherine Smith

EYE Apprentice

I’m Catherine, William’s big sister! I also have 3 other siblings who I live with along with my mam. Ever since studying Health and social care in high school, I have been interested in childcare. Leaving school was hard, I didn’t know what I was going to do. I applied for college then soon realised I didn’t want to be stuck in a classroom, so I applied for an apprenticeship in childcare. This was the best decision I ever made.

Catherine joined CKC at the end of September 2021. 

Elizabeth Haslam

EYE Apprentice

Elizabeth joined CKC at the beginning of September 2021. She is already level 2 qualified and joins us as a level 3 apprentice. Elizabeth is also our new SENCO.

Elizabeth lives with her partner and her son, in her spare time she enjoys reading.
